The Travel Clinic Ltd are happy to announce that they are now able to do the QuantiFERON-TB Gold test  (QFT) in their Cambridge clinic.  This is a simple blood test, able to accurately report active TB (tuberculosis) disease, or latent TB infection.  This can be used to comply with Visa requirements for immigration or for work/schooling overseas, and has been approved by many international health authorities.  The USA’s Centre for Disease Control suggests the QFT as an alternative to the tuberculin skin test (Mantoux).     The QuantiFERON – TB Gold test is unaffected by previous BCG vaccination, and is far more sensitive and accurate than the skin test.  Please get in touch with The Travel Clinic Ltd if you would like to book an appointment, or find out more.
